Estate Caretaker

Position Overview

Master Butler Collection has been retained to identify a dedicated Estate Caretaker for a substantial private residence operating within a formal household structure.

This is a practical, hands-on appointment supporting the Estate Manager and wider household team. The successful candidate will divide responsibilities between the main residence and estate grounds, ensuring safety, maintenance discipline and operational reliability.

This role combines estate security, household support and structured property upkeep.

Core Responsibilities

Estate & Site Security

Act as keyholder and first responder to alarm activations
Manage controlled site access for contractors and visitors
Maintain on-site presence during Principal stays

Property Maintenance & Oversight

Schedule and monitor servicing of household systems
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections and compliance
Conduct health and safety routines
Coordinate contractors and enforce site standards

Household Support

Work alongside Housekeeping team on daily and weekly property checks
Record and action reported faults and maintenance issues
Maintain stock levels of essential supplies
Support fire management, waste systems and property readiness

Driving & Logistics

Provide driving support for Principals and guests
Manage errands, supply runs and estate logistics

Practical Duties

Light maintenance and DIY
Furniture assembly and property preparation
Manual handling where required
Support grounds team during seasonal activity

Candidate Profile

Minimum five years’ experience within private estates or formal households
Clean driving licence
Excellent verifiable references
Non-smoker preferred
Fit and capable of physical estate duties
Strong communication skills
English fluent
