How I became a trainer & what inspires me to teach by Robert Watson

During my early career most hotels/restaurants did not have training departments, the way it was that, those with experience trained the new employees.

At age 19 I became night room-service head waiter in an 800 bedroomed 5-star hotel in London,

but before I took over the position the hotel sent me on a train-the-trainer course as well as a supervisors training course.

In those times, as a supervisor or manager you were expected to not only manage your team but also to train them. How well your team performed was a reflection as to your effectiveness as a supervisor/manager and as a trainer.

I think you can be the best at what you do, but if you cannot pass your skills, experience & passion for what you do to others, then your time has been wasted.
